Animal Advocates Regular Giving Program

Animal Advocates are a treasured group of supporters who show their commitment to animal welfare via regular monthly donations of hope.

I would like to become an Animal Advocate!

By donating once a month, Animal Advocates demonstrate how much animals matter to them. Regular gifts mean that RSPCA NSW can plan in advance and commit funds to our vital services.
An Animal Advocate gift of $2 per day would achieve the following over 12 months:
• Four adult cats desexed which prevents tens of thousands of unwanted kittens being born
• One cruelty case rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed
• Fuel and maintenance costs for two inspectors to keep them on the road
• Under floor heating for one kennel in one of our shelters which can house over 30 dogs over 12 months
• 73 specialised animal enrichment toys to assist in rehabilitation and behavioural training
• Our education team can visit over 500 children to educate them on the importance of treating all living things with kindness

Where does the money go?

We know that Animal Advocates are socially responsible and informed. They are interested in where their donation is invested and how much goes to the animals. This chart displays how the money we receive is distributed.

Success story!

By making a committed monthly donation, you will be giving animals like Gemma a second chance:

Gemma

Gemma was seized by an RSPCA Inspector in 2010. She was suffering from a severe bone infection caused by a metal rod that had been left over from a previous surgery in 2008. Her owners had left her without vet treatment for so long that the rod had protruded through her skin above her hip joint. Gemma was unable to put any weight on her left hind leg due to the injury.

RSPCA veterinarians removed the pin and Gemma was put on a long course of antibiotics and pain relief. After four weeks in RSPCA’s care, she was walking on all four legs with no signs of limping, and the wound had completely healed. Her owner was found guilty and placed on a Section 9 good behaviour bond for twelve months. An order was made prohibiting him from owning any animals for two years. He was also ordered to pay all of Gemma’s  veterinary and boarding costs.  If it wasn't for our Inspectors, Gemma’s story may have ended differently. Instead, she was rescued and brought back to our Sydney shelter where she was treated and rehabilitated until she was healthy enough to go up for adoption. Animal Advocate donations ensured Gemma was cared for and provided with the best veterinary treatment available giving her the second chance at life she deserved.
