Desexing Information

The Nowra Volunteer Branch of the RSPCA recognises that financially disadvantaged people such as pensioners can often not afford to desex their pets due to associated costs. This can lead to an increase in unwanted pets due to indiscriminate breeding, compromised animal welfare of breeding females and their litters due to high frequency of pregnancies or being unable to locate their pets when lost.

Extensive fundraising has enabled the RSPCA Nowra Volunteer Branch to offer a subsidised desexing program for the pets of financially disadvantaged residents within the Northern Shoalhaven region.

What is the cost of the program?

  • Nowra Volunteer Branch will contribute by subsidising approximately 50% of the total cost.
  • Financially disadvantaged people will be required to pay the balance of the cost and any extras.
  • We have a number of participating vets from North Nowra to Sussex Inlet.

Who is eligible?

If you are a holder of a BLUE Pension Card or Low Income/Health Care card (excluding family tax benefit card) you may apply for the subsidised program.
