Established in 1974, the RSPCA Veterinary Hospital in Broken Hill attends to mostly small animals, but also cares for any local wildlife and horses presented. The hospital is well-equipped with modern ECG, x-ray, ultra sound and IDEXX in-house laboratory facilities. Dental facilities and endoscopy are also available.
Mobile veterinary services use the hospital as a base when travel ling to various remote areas. Clinics are conducted every six weeks in Menindee and Wilcannia, and every six months in Tibooburra and White Cliffs. Veterinary services offered include vaccinations, desexing, microchipping and minor surgery, plus transportation back to Broken Hill if further treatment is necessary.
