A smaller Veterinary Hospital, Tighes Hill mostly serves the needs of private clients, but also complements the work of the Rutherford Veterinary Hospital in treating strays and shelter animals.
The hospital has a brand-new operating theatre and monitored recovery areas. The recovery areas include private, sound-proofed cat facilities complete with an atomizer to reduce patient stress.
A second RSPCA Veterinary Hospital in the Hunter region is located at Rutherford.
