The RSPCA’s Broken Hill Veterinary Clinic was established in 1974 and sees mostly small animals, plus horses and wildlife. It also provides medical services to animals in the RSPCA’s Broken Hill shelter who have no owners.
The clinic is well equipped with x-rays, ultra sound, IDEXX in-house laboratory facilities. Dental work, ECG and endoscopy are also offered.
The hospital is also a base from which mobile veterinary services travel to remote areas such as Tibooburra, White Cliffs, Wilcannia and Menindee. Every six weeks, clinics are conducted in Menindee and Wilcannia and every six months in Tibooburra and White Cliffs. They provide vaccinations, desexing, microchipping, minor surgery and transport back to Broken Hill for further treatment if necessary.
