Tighes Hill is a smaller veterinary hospital, mostly serving the needs of private clients. However, the clinic. However it also complements the work of Rutherford veterinary hospital, treating strays and shelter animals. As well, it acts as a holding area for Newcastle area’s stray animals before they are re-claimed or moved to Rutherford shelter for assessment for re-homing.
The hospital has a brand-new operating theatre, and easily-monitored recovery areas which include soundproof, private cat facilities with an atomizer which dispenses pheromones to reduce stress.
The shelter incorporates a brand new veterinary hospital with a separate veterinary clinic at Tighes Hill to cater for the shelter’s Newcastle-based clients. There are two operating theatres with brand new equipment. There are separate recovery areas for shelter animals and private clients.
