Horatio is a little pup with a big impact! Aside from looking like a Jim Henson character, this little guy will fill your world with joy as long as you can keep him engaged!
Like any youngster he does plenty of sleeping and resting but this little guy wants to really be part of the family. It's not enough for him to sit over there while you do things over here – so if you aren't prepared for a pup that can be with you, travel with you and adventure with you for most of your days, then this is not the pup for you.
Horatio has been in foster care since he was young and it was clear from early on that he needed a certain amount of freedom to participate in the home. He is curious and engages well with the world around him and when left idle for too long or separated from the action will become frustrated and very vocal.
Horatio will need grooming and is good at being bathed, but is still learning about standing for a brush and hair trim. This training will need to be continued gently and positively to ensure he is accepting of future grooming needs. While he loves to have a play and wrestle with other dogs, he can become quite vocal in play and still needs to be managed/redirected from time to time when play gets too rough.
He is however, a delightful companion. He travels well in the car, enjoys interacting with new people and will meet and greet polite calm dogs. He loves his mat even if it moves around the house/car/caravan and enjoys wandering off for an explore. He loves to play in water, loves toys and loves a cosy bed.
Because of his long body and little legs, he is best suited to a home with few stairs and no slippery floors.
Because Horatio is still in foster care, you will need to fill out the expression of interest form and a representative from the shelter team will contact you regarding your application. Â
