Home How you can help Volunteer at RSPCA NSW Central Coast Shelter Op Shop Volunteer Op Shop Volunteer RSPCA NSW is seeking a volunteer to provide general assistance within the Central Coast Op Shop. Opportunity shops raise vital funds for animals in our care and support various programs for people in our communities. Our stores sell high-quality second-hand and brand new clothing, accessories and homewares. Your assistance will help with the day-to-day running of the shop, whose proceeds go directly to the local shelter to provide care for the shelter animals. RSPCA NSW will ensure that you receive appropriate training and will provide ongoing support to explore other opportunities within the organisation, if required. Availability: Friday Times involved: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Location: Central Coast Op Shop Volunteer tasks and responsibilities Maximise sales by providing exceptional customer service to our customers Serve customers in the shop, handle money, use the cash register and Eftpos machine Organise donations to assess the quality and suitability of donated merchandise Visual merchandising Process donations, including sorting, pricing and hanging Check stock and replenish when necessary Ensure store is clean and tidy Comply with all Work Health and Safety guidelines Understand and comply with RSPCA NSW policies and procedures Check requirements Physical ability to lift up to 10 kilograms Ability to follow direction and work within a team and individually Good verbal and written communication skills Reliable Well organised, flexible and able to prioritise Enjoy interacting with people Positive attitude A National Police Check will need to be completed prior to your commencement. Specific volunteer roles may require an additional Working with Children’s Check.
