Home How you can help Volunteer at RSPCA NSW Hunter Shelter and Veterinary Hospital Photography Volunteer Photography Volunteer RSPCA NSW is seeking creative volunteers who enjoy interacting with animals and would like to use their photography skills to help promote animals awaiting adoption. This role requires someone who can work with various animals including birds, cats, dogs and rabbits. As a Photography Volunteer, you will enhance your creative and photographic skills within the shelter environment. RSPCA NSW will ensure that you receive appropriate training and will provide ongoing support for other opportunities within the organisation, if required. Availability: Monday – Friday Times involved: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m Location: Hunter Shelter Volunteer tasks and responsibilities Coordinate with staff about which animals need their photos taken Coordinate with staff on taking the animal out of the enclosure or kennel Spend time with the animals to gain their confidence Photograph animals using the RSPCA NSW Volunteer Photography Guide Edit all images, using the guide, and submit to your supervisor within a day or two Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines Understand and comply with RSPCA NSW policies and procedures Check requirements Copy of your previous work or portfolio (essential) Your own equipment (camera, laptop, photo editing software) (essential) Animal handling skills and experience (desirable) Good verbal and written communication skills Reliable Prepared to get a little dirty Well organised, flexible and able to prioritise Enjoy interacting with people and animals Positive attitude A National Police Check will need to be completed prior to your commencement. Specific volunteer roles may require an additional Working With Children’s Check.
