Home How you can help Volunteer at RSPCA NSW Hunter Shelter and Veterinary Hospital Transportation Volunteer Transportation Volunteer RSPCA NSW is seeking volunteers to assist our shelter with transporting animals and goods between multiple locations. Using the RSPCA NSW Animal Ambulance, you will assist the shelter by picking up and dropping off mail, goods and animals. As a Transport Driver Volunteer, you will help provide support to the Hunter Shelter, Tighes Hill Veterinary Hospital, Tuggerah Care Centre and occasionally other RSPCA NSW shelters. RSPCA NSW will ensure you receive appropriate training and will provide ongoing support for other opportunities within the organization, if required. Availability: Tuesday and Thursday Times involved: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Location: Sydney Shelter Volunteer tasks and responsibilities Transport goods and animals to multiple locations using the RSPCA NSW Ambulance Pick up and drop off mail using the RSPCA NSW Ambulance Clean the RSPCA NSW Ambulance after use Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines Understand and comply with RSPCA NSW policies and procedures Check requirements Must have a class C drivers License (essential) Physical ability to lift up to 20 kilograms (essential) Ability to follow direction and work within a team and individually Good verbal and written communication skills Reliable Prepared to get a little dirty Well organised, flexible and able to prioritise Enjoy interacting with people and animals Positive attitude A National Police Check will need to be completed prior to your commencement. Specific volunteer roles may require an additional Working with Children’s Check.
