Admin Assistant Volunteer

RSPCA NSW is seeking volunteers to provide general administrative assistance within the Sydney Shelter. The role involves a variety of duties to help assist the Fundraising and Community departments with general administration duties and day-to-day tasks.

As an Admin Assistant Volunteer, you will gain valuable administrative skills within the work environment. RSPCA NSW will ensure you receive appropriate training and will provide ongoing support for other opportunities within the organisation, if required.

Availability: Monday to Friday

Times involved:  9 a.m. –  5 p.m

Location: Sydney Shelter

Volunteer tasks and responsibilities

  • Updating, cleaning and deduping data in excel and our CRM
  • Volunteer data collection and database entry
  • Scanning and printing
  • Assisting with receipting, writing letters and replying to donors
  • Assisting with calls to foster carers about potential animals or appointment reminders
  • Packing welcome packs for new donors and new regular givers
  • Other ad-hoc administration and back office duties
  • Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines
  • Understand and comply with RSPCA NSW policies and procedures

Check requirements

  • Basic experience in Microsoft Office suite (essential)
  • General administration experience – filing, scanning, entering details into a database (essential)
  • Some financial experience (to assist in processing and reconciling donations) (desirable)
  • Appropriate phone manner and enthusiasm
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable
  • Ability to follow direction and work within a team and individually
  • Attention to detail
