Home How you can help Volunteer at RSPCA NSW Sydney Shelter and Veterinary Hospital General Maintenance Volunteer General Maintenance Volunteer RSPCA NSW is seeking volunteers to provide general maintenance. The role involves a variety of duties to help maintain the shelters buildings and grounds. As a general maintenance volunteer, you will maintain and provide upkeep to the shelter, ensuring stability and support for all animals in our care. RSPCA NSW will ensure that you receive appropriate training and will provide ongoing support to explore other opportunities within the organisation, if required. Availability: Shifts are available Monday – Friday Times involved: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Location: Sydney Shelter Volunteer tasks and responsibilities Perform general duties from the maintenance schedule, including cleaning walls, windows, doors, shelving, fencing, and pathways using pressure washer Assist with general repairs and painting Clean walls of animal enclosures, kennels and hutches Help maintain cleanliness around the shelter, and keep equipment maintained and in good working order Receive and store supplies for the clinic and the shelter to ensure sufficient stock is on hand Comply with all Work Health and Safety guidelines Understand and comply with RSPCA NSW policies and procedures Check requirements Physical ability to lift up to 10 kilograms Ability to follow direction and work within a team and individually Good verbal and written communication skills Reliable Prepared to get a little dirty Well organised, flexible and able to prioritise Enjoy interacting with people and animals Positive attitude A National Police Check will need to be completed prior to your commencement. Specific volunteer roles may require an additional Working with Children’s Check.
