Home How you can help Volunteer at RSPCA NSW Sydney Shelter and Veterinary Hospital Transportation Volunteer Transportation Volunteer The purpose of this role is to assist in the transportation of goods that have been donated to RSPCA NSW, supporting the grounds and maintenance team, and assisting with the possible transportation of animals. As a transportation volunteer you will develop valuable driving and general hand experience, and contribute to ensuring stability and support to all animals within our care. RSPCA NSW will ensure that you receive appropriate training and will provide ongoing support to explore other opportunities within the organisation, if required. Availability: Shifts are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday Times involved: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Location: Sydney Shelter Volunteer tasks and responsibilities Picking up and dropping off goods that have been donated to RSPCA NSW across the Sydney metropolitan area Unloading and unpacking goods within the RSPCA NSW Sydney Shelter Possible animal transport from shelter-to-shelter locations Possible general maintenance of the shelter and grounds, supporting the grounds and maintenance team when not driving Complying with all Work Health and Safety guidelines Understanding and complying with RSPCA NSW policies and procedures Check requirements Current C class drivers licence Physical ability to lift up to 10 kilograms Ability to follow direction and work within a team and individually Good verbal and written communication skills Reliable Prepared to get a little dirty Well organised, flexible and able to prioritise Enjoy interacting with people and animals Positive attitude A National Police Check will need to be completed prior to your commencement. Specific volunteer roles may require an additional Working with Children’s Check.
