Our vision is to focus on the ‘P’ in RSPCA (the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). If we can teach people how to prevent cruelty in the first place, we will reduce the number of animals that need our help. We have a large network of facilities, staff and volunteers to help us achieve that vision, resources that are around 98 per cent funded by the generous donations of our supporters.
As Australia's pre-eminent animal welfare organisation, the RSPCA provides a strong voice for animals experiencing cruelty and neglect. We are committed to the care and welfare of animals.
RSPCA NSW operates 10 shelters, four veterinary hospitals, two Care Centres and the Inspectorate. Through our programs, we assist the elderly and victims of domestic violence by caring for their animals while they seek help. We also run remote assistance clinics in regional areas and an indigenous dogs scheme.
We work with local councils, state and federal governments, and other interested groups, including community organisations, farmers, professional associations and wildlife authorities to ensure the rights of animals are upheld.
