November 2016 Corporate Support

Corporate Support Days with RSPCA NSW are an amazing opportunity for any company’s staff to strengthen their relationships as a team. Through an interactive experience, teams are able to help with the maintenance of the grounds and the shelter animals’ socialisation skills. It’s a practical way to learn, team build and show care for our shelter animals. This November, staff from NRMA, NAB, Endemol Shine and Westpac all took part in the immense effort it takes to run a shelter to help the neglected, homeless and unwanted animals.


For their third visit this year, NRMA came to the RSPCA Sydney Shelter with the sun shining and plenty of enthusiasm. The team not only donated some spinach and other veggies, but they also pulled up their sleeves and planted them in our veggie garden. The bushes in our dog yards had begun to look overgrown, so the NRMA team trimmed them back, which was a huge help.

Calling on their inner artists, they skilfully painted several dog kennels in the dog yard and, afterwards, cleaned out the enclosures of our bunny residents. The afternoon was spent washing the dogs, and with the sun beating down on the shelter, the dogs accepted the cool baths with wagging tails! After having much-needed one-on-one time with them, the NRMA team then spent time with the adult cats and gave extra cuddles with the recently desexed kittens. Thank you for your fantastic support, NRMA. We look forward to having you back in 2017!

The third group from NAB arrived for the year, kicking off their day with a huge gardening project. They trimmed the trees and made the animal enclosures in the stables spick and span. By planting their kindly donated veggies into our garden, they made sure our pocket pets and birds would have plenty to eat over Christmas. After spending the afternoon trying to win the love of the cats and kittens, they washed and walked some of our excited dogs.

They had a meet and greet with some cheeky goats and cuddled some baby bunnies. The day was finished off with a behind-the-scenes tour of our animal hospital. Thank you, NAB, for all your amazing support. We can’t wait to work with you next year!

Endemol Shine

Despite a stiflingly hot day, the Endemol Shine team eagerly sat down to learn from one of our inspectors about their work. After the session, they got stuck right into some gardening projects, followed by working in the stables to put down some soft sand for our resident goats. After the bunny, guinea pig and bird enclosures were cleaned out, they went to wash, walk and play with our adoption dogs.

The Endemol Shine team played with our adult cats too, cuddling them until it was time for a tour of the hospital where they witnessed an eye surgery. Thank you so much to the team for visiting. See you in 2017!

Also on their third visit for the year, the Westpac team donated some veggies to be planted for our pocket pets and birds. Working in the stables, they cleaned out the bunny and guinea pig enclosures, followed by setting down new sand for our horses, goats and other farm animals to enjoy.

After successfully completing a gardening project, the dogs were cooled down with baths and chilled out with Westpac team members in the comfort of their kennels. The cats were also gently enticed out to be given a good brush and playtime. Thank you for your ongoing support, Westpac. It’s always a pleasure to have your employees come out to visit and we’re looking forward to the next time!

  1. The initiative runs in New South Wales only from 24 February to 26 February 2017 inclusive.
  2. The initiative applies to all animals available for adoption at RSPCA NSW shelters, Care Centres and participating Petbarn Adoption Centres only. The initiative does not extend to RSPCA NSW animals offered for adoption through RSPCA Volunteer branches.
  3. Animals adopted during the initiative are subject to availability. Should all available animals be rehomed prior to the end of the initiative, the offer will no longer be honoured. No rainchecks are available.
  4. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
  5. RSPCA NSW retains the right to refuse an adoption if it does not comply with standard operational processes.
  6. A maximum of two adoption animals may be adopted by any household.
  7. No animal will be placed on hold for any period. Adoption must be by personal attendance at one of the abovementioned facilities.
  8. Photographic personal identification must be presented at the time of adoption.
  9. A suitable carry cage must be used to transport birds, felines and small animals, including pocket pets, from the premises and during the journey home. If you do not have access to an appropriate carrier, you can purchase a carrier at the time of adopting your companion. Cardboard carriers are available to purchase for $10 from RSPCA shelters and Care Centres while stocks last.
  10. Suitable leads and harnesses must be used to transport canines from the premises. Canines must be appropriately restrained within the vehicle for the journey home. If you do not have access to an appropriate lead and harness, suitable equipment is available for purchase at the time of adoption while stocks last.
  11. Suitable transport for livestock and horses must be considered prior to adoption, and animals must be collected on the day of adoption.
  12. We understand that sometimes, despite your and RSPCA NSW’s best endeavours, your new pet doesn’t settle into your lifestyle. For this reason, you can return any animal to a RSPCA NSW shelter within 21 days from the time of collection to receive a replacement authorisation in accordance with our replacement policy, or a refund of the adoption fee paid. Please note: merchandise purchased cannot be returned as part of the replacement of an animal. Should a product be faulty, you can return that product, in its original condition, to the facility you purchased the merchandise from within seven (7) days and RSPCA NSW will replace that item.
