Pawfessionals Making Change - February Corporate Support Days 2017

Corporate Support Days with RSPCA NSW are an amazing opportunity for team building and learning. Through an interactive experience, teams are able to help with the maintenance of the shelter and socialising with the animals. It’s a practical way to learn, team build and show care for animals across the state. In February, staff from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Campaign Monitor, Deutsche Bank and Cuscal lent their strength and helped animals in need.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Hewlett Packard Enterprise visited the RSPCA Sydney Shelter for the first time, becoming our first corporate team for 2017! They kicked off the day by meeting one of our animal inspectors, then helped clean out the pocket pet area and stables. The dogs were walked, bathed and cuddled, before they played with cheeky kittens and gave some love to the adult cats. In the afternoon, the team met our cute goats and other farm animals. They were also treated to a look at the inner workings of the RSPCA Veterinary Hospital, witnessing some cats undergo surgery.

Thank you, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, for your generosity and hard work. Until next time!

Campaign Monitor

The Campaign Monitor team was back for a second time! They braved the intense humidity and rain to thoroughly clean out the bunny hutches and work hard in the stables. They generously donated veggies and planted them in our garden. When the afternoon sun came around, they met the cheeky goats and a lovable pig! They even got the chance to cuddle kittens and vie for the attention of the older cats. The dogs received some extra love from the Campaign Monitor team by getting a wash, walk and one-on-one time in their kennels.

Thank you, Campaign Monitor, for your energy. We can’t wait for your third visit!

Deutsche Bank

It was Deutsche Bank’s first ever visit, and we already love them! They steadily worked through the heat and rain with smiles on their faces. After cleaning out the bunny hutches, they headed to the kitten haven. The kittens’ homes were cleaned, litter boxes changed out, bedding replaced and bowls washed out. Rewards were due, so they spent time cuddling and playing with all the kittens afterwards! In the afternoon, the dogs were taken out for walks, bathed and were given one-on-one time in their kennels.

Thank you, Deutsche bank, for all your support and love! We’re already looking forward to your second visit!

Cuscal joined us for their first visit to brave the heat and work hard in the stables. They spent some quality time playing with our fuzzy kittens and made sure plenty of cuddles were at hand. Because of the heat, the team cooled all the dogs down with baths and were thanked with slobbery licks and wagging tails. Afterwards, special time was spent with the dogs in the kennels. The team kindly donated fresh veggies for our bunnies, and brought pet toys and treats!

Thank you so much for your compassion and hard work! We’re waiting for your return!

Want to get involved?

Volunteers at RSPCA Corporate Support Days learn about the work RSPCA NSW does and get a guided behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter. And as well as bonding with your team, you get the chance to see firsthand the impact you are having on the lives of the animals at the RSPCA. And of course, you’ll be rewarded with some much-deserved one-on-one time with our animal residents. If this sounds like something that would get your team’s tails wagging, then contact us today to make a booking.

Corporate Support Days are now available at the Central Coast, Hunter and Sydney Shelters. To book one for your workplace, please contact:

  1. The initiative runs in New South Wales only from 24 February to 26 February 2017 inclusive.
  2. The initiative applies to all animals available for adoption at RSPCA NSW shelters, Care Centres and participating Petbarn Adoption Centres only. The initiative does not extend to RSPCA NSW animals offered for adoption through RSPCA Volunteer branches.
  3. Animals adopted during the initiative are subject to availability. Should all available animals be rehomed prior to the end of the initiative, the offer will no longer be honoured. No rainchecks are available.
  4. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
  5. RSPCA NSW retains the right to refuse an adoption if it does not comply with standard operational processes.
  6. A maximum of two adoption animals may be adopted by any household.
  7. No animal will be placed on hold for any period. Adoption must be by personal attendance at one of the abovementioned facilities.
  8. Photographic personal identification must be presented at the time of adoption.
  9. A suitable carry cage must be used to transport birds, felines and small animals, including pocket pets, from the premises and during the journey home. If you do not have access to an appropriate carrier, you can purchase a carrier at the time of adopting your companion. Cardboard carriers are available to purchase for $10 from RSPCA shelters and Care Centres while stocks last.
  10. Suitable leads and harnesses must be used to transport canines from the premises. Canines must be appropriately restrained within the vehicle for the journey home. If you do not have access to an appropriate lead and harness, suitable equipment is available for purchase at the time of adoption while stocks last.
  11. Suitable transport for livestock and horses must be considered prior to adoption, and animals must be collected on the day of adoption.
  12. We understand that sometimes, despite your and RSPCA NSW’s best endeavours, your new pet doesn’t settle into your lifestyle. For this reason, you can return any animal to a RSPCA NSW shelter within 21 days from the time of collection to receive a replacement authorisation in accordance with our replacement policy, or a refund of the adoption fee paid. Please note: merchandise purchased cannot be returned as part of the replacement of an animal. Should a product be faulty, you can return that product, in its original condition, to the facility you purchased the merchandise from within seven (7) days and RSPCA NSW will replace that item.
