RSPCA NSW runs courses about animal care and welfare for all age groups.

Professional Development for Teachers

The RSPCA NSW Education Team is proud to offer Professional Development for Teachers. This two hour course is aimed at early childhood and primary teachers, and covers a range of strategies and tips for keeping children safe around dogs.

The course shows teachers how to incorporate their new safety knowledge into classroom practice by providing teaching materials and lesson plans. Teachers will then be able to add the knowledge and learning activities into their existing modules for safety in the home, at school and on the road.

This free course is based on the RSPCA NSW Dog Safety Program currently being delivered in preschools and primary schools across New South Wales. This course can be run at numerous locations across the state. Please contact our Education Team on (02) 9782 4478 to organise a visit to your location.

If you or someone in your organisation is interested in booking this course, please fill in the form below and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

“The information provided by the RSPCA educators to improve our understanding of dogs and their behaviours, particularly around children, was excellent. The resources are really good and will be very helpful to teachers, students and parents. We will definitely be utilising the lessons and activities to educate our school community.”
