Content Writer – Full Time – Sydney Admin

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals NSW is Australia’s preeminent animal welfare organisation. We provide a strong voice for animals experiencing cruelty and neglect. The RSPCA is committed to the care and welfare of animals, providing extensive professional facilities, including fully equipped veterinary hospitals and our state-wide shelter network, with dedicated staff located throughout NSW to care for animals.

Our Sydney office is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Content Writer to join our Creative team on a full-time basis.  The Content Writer will be responsible for writing, editing, and proofreading content, ensuring brand consistency across the organisation’s internal and external communication and marketing channels.

Role responsibilities

  • Develop content according to RSPCA NSW standards
  • Edit collateral materials, including flyers, brochures, posters, direct marketing packs, publications, signage, advertising, social posts, media releases and annual reports
  • Standardise content prepared by other writers
  • Liaise with internal and external clients
  • Review materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format and content
  • Project management
  • Maintenance of records of working files, revisions and archives.

Selection criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in journalism, marketing, or communications (essential)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in communications/writing
  • Demonstrated error-free writing ability
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and proactively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Project management experience
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Ability to decipher feedback and provide effective solutions
  • An interest in animal welfare.
