Buddy is a sweet Cattle Dog who was only three years old when he came into our care at our Central West Shelter through the Inspectorate Team.

He was suffering from severe neglect and weighed only 12.2 kilos; you could count every rib on him.

Last year alone, we responded to over 17,000 cruelty complaints. We see animals like Buddy who have been subjected to horrible abuse and neglect through no fault of their own. 

Once Buddy had overcome his challenges, he was ready for adoption, but sadly received little interest and ended up staying in our care for close to 4 months.

Until one day, our team went above and beyond to connect Buddy with a wonderful woman who lived 6 hours away and didn’t drive.

It was love at first sight and when they met, it was like they’d known each other forever—Buddy had finally found his person.
