Our Community Homelessness Support Program is currently unable to take on any additional clients. If you and your pet are in urgent need of help, please reach out to our Contact Centre at (02) 9770 7555 to discuss how we can help you find the support you need.
With over 116,000 Australians experiencing homelessness on any given night, the barriers to seeking help can be significant. Many individuals choose to remain in unsafe situations rather than risk losing their pets, which can prolong their situation or further exacerbate feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression.
Pets provide essential comfort and support – even more so during challenging times – which is why it’s so important to protect the bond between people and their animal companions.
RSPCA NSW’s Homelessness Support Program alleviates these burdens by providing people’s animal companions with safe accommodation and allowing owners to focus on their recovery, treatment, and safety. This program not only fosters improved outcomes for people’s health but also helps maintain the vital bond between them and their animal companions.
