Padstow Community Volunteer Group

The RSPCA NSW Padstow Community Volunteer Group supports pets and animal guardians in the Canterbury-Bankstown area. Run exclusively by volunteers, the group assists our outreach teams, collects non-financial donations, and runs fundraising events for animals in need.

By raising funds for local pets and providing preventative veterinary aid, our volunteers are building a better world for people and animals alike.

If you have a genuine concern for animals and enjoy meeting like-minded people, why not lend a helping hand and become a volunteer? Help us support all creatures, great and small, by raising funds for animals in need and joining the Padstow Community Volunteer Group today!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do community volunteer groups respond to or investigate animal cruelty complaints?

Our branches, supporter groups, and community volunteer groups do not participate in investigating animal cruelty. If you need to report animal cruelty, contact our animal emergency helpline at 1300 CRUELTY or reach us via phone at 1300 278 3589.

Though our volunteers occasionally assist our community outreach teams, we encourage you to contact your nearest branch, supporter group, or community volunteer group to inquire about the services our volunteers can provide.

Money raised by our branches, supporter groups, and community volunteer groups is spent on addressing the needs of local animal guardians and their pets. With the endorsement of their members, our branches and supporter groups can also allocate funds to the wider organisation, to be used for events or community outreach programs that promote the improvement of animal welfare.

Our branches, supporter groups, and community volunteer groups don’t rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals like our shelters and adoption centres do. They instead raise funds for our organisation and occasionally assist with providing pet owners with community outreach assistance.

You don’t need to be an RSPCA NSW financial member to volunteer at one our shelters, branches, supporter groups, or events. Conversely, becoming a volunteer does not automatically make you a member. However, if you wish to join the executive committee at one of our branches or supporter groups (or want to have voting rights within that branch or group), you will need to become an RSPCA NSW Member first.

Although volunteers do not receive exclusive discounts or event admission, we frequently offer promotions, special invitations, and discounts to events to all our supporters.

Unfortunately, every state runs a different membership program. You will need to reapply to volunteer with a specific RSPCA.
