Hi, I’m Koda. I’m a soft-hearted Staffy cross with a gentle soul, quietly waiting for my second chance at life. The world has been a little scary for me—I've had some hard experiences that have left me feeling unsure around people. Because of that, I can be a bit shy and nervous at first, but underneath it all, I’m just a sweet girl hoping for someone kind and patient to help me feel safe and loved. I warm up to people fairly quickly, especially when I'm with another canine companion as they are kind of like my own personal support pal! If you already have a dog, that’s wonderful! I enjoy the company of calm, friendly dogs, but I’ll need to meet them first to make sure we get along. Having a confident dog friend around could even help me feel braver
I’m looking for an experienced owner who understands that building trust takes time. I would love a home where I have my own safe haven like a crate or outdoor kennel – really, anywhere I can just really relax and come out of my shell at my own pace. I’d love a family with children who are dog savvy so they understand to give me gentle affection and the space I need while I learn to feel secure. It’s also important that my new home has secure outdoor access—I love having time outside to sniff and explore, but I need a safe space where I won’t feel overwhelmed, so apartments just aren’t the right fit for me. I know I’m not the kind of dog who will run into your arms right away—but if you’re the gentle, understanding kind of person who sees the beauty in a quiet, tender heart like mine, I’ll be so grateful. I’m ready to start my next chapter with someone who will love me just as I am. Could that someone be you?
