Little bit about Dozer

Hi there, I’m Dozer.

I’m a Border Collie x Mastiff, which means I’ve got the brains, loyalty, big dog cuddles and just enough goofiness to keep you laughing.

My favourite place in the world is curled up on the lounge beside my people. I absolutely love human companionship and being part of the family, but I’m also a fairly independent boy who is happy to enjoy some quiet time on my own. I’m comfortable being left home alone and would love a securely fenced backyard where I can potter around, soak up the sunshine and supervise important backyard activities.

I’ll need to be the only animal in the home and would love a calm, predictable household with no children under 6 years old.

I used to be very underweight and never knew when my next meal was coming. Because of this, I can get a little frustrated when human food is around and worry that I might be missing out. I’ll need to be fed separately and given space to enjoy my meals without being disturbed. With patience, routine and knowing my food is always coming, I’m learning that I don’t need to worry.

I also have hip dysplasia, so my new family will need to be prepared for ongoing management. I may need long-term pain medication to keep me comfortable and enjoying life.

I’ve waited five years for someone to choose me. Five birthdays. Five years of hoping. And maybe, just maybe, my person is reading this right now.

Could it be you?

Love,

Dozer x
