Hi there, I'm Dozer.
I recently celebrated my 5th birthday. Birthdays are meant to be happy, but this one was a little bittersweet. It marked another year of waiting for a family to call my own. Five birthdays. Five years of watching other dogs leave for their forever homes while I stayed behind, hoping that one day it would be my turn.
I'm a Border Collie x Mastiff with a loyal heart, a clever mind, and so much love to give. My favourite place in the world is curled up on the lounge beside my people. I don't need much, just a home where I belong.
I adore people, but I also enjoy my own quiet space when life feels a little overwhelming. A securely fenced backyard where I can relax in the sunshine would be perfect. I'll also need a family who'll be mindful around the front door, as I can be a bit of an escape artist. I'll also need to be the only animal in the home, and because I prefer a calm, predictable environment, I'm looking for a family with no children under 6 years old.
When I first came into care, I was very underweight and never knew where my next meal was coming from. Because of that, I still like to eat in my own space and can get a little excited by whatever you're having. With patience and routine, I'm learning that food will always be there for me.
I've waited five years for someone to choose me. Maybe the family I've been dreaming about is reading this right now.
