Hi, I'm Ivy! I am currently living the good life in foster care while I wait for my forever home! I have gotten into a great routine with my daily schedule of playing, sunbaking, quiet morning and evening walks and lots of naps in-between! I have mastered many aspects of pet life including toilet training, spending a couple of hours on my own, sleeping on my bed through the night and entertaining myself with solo play with my toys. I love food which makes me highly trainable – in fact, I have already mastered several cues including: 'sit', 'stay', 'touch', 'drop', 'look' and 'off'! Aren't I so smart?! II will have you in stitches with my goofy play and I am known for my trademark post-poo zoomies! The best part of my day is winding down in the evening for snuggles on the couch before bed!
Although I have learned so much in my amazing foster care home, I am still a shy girl at heart who needs time and space to adapt to new things and get to know new people. My ideal forever home will be a quiet, relaxed household without young kids (12 years old and up!) with humans willing to take things slow with me as I learn about my new life. I still have lots of fun puppy energy in me, so I will need some outdoor space and lots of opportunities to play, chew and otherwise enrich and stimulate my brain!
Meeting new dogs can feel overwhelming at first, but with the right match, I relax and even get playful after a short while. It’s important that I meet any dogs I’ll live with before joining the family, and I do best with an adult role model dog who can show me the ropes. A fellow adolescent or a young puppy might be too much for my age, so I’d do best with an older, steady influencer or as a solo dog if there’s a canine friend I can regularly socialize with.
