Since 1974, our dedicated team has treated and cared for a variety of animals, including pets, wildlife animals, and victims of cruelty and neglect. Â
All profits made at our veterinary hospitals contribute directly to our shelters and community outreach programs. This means that, by booking an appointment at the Broken Hill Veterinary Hospital, you’ll help us provide much-needed treatment to vulnerable animals seeking support.Â
Dr Candice has been a dedicated veterinarian for more than eight years, three of which were spent at the Broken Hill Veterinary Hospital. Dr Candice loves building relationships with clients and their beloved animal companions, pointing to the sense of community as the highlight of her work. Dr Candice takes great joy in nurturing the health of puppies and kittens, especially those who had their first health checks with RSPCA NSW. With a special interest in feline medicine, Dr Candice ensures she is always providing high quality care for feline clients. However, she also enjoys treating dogs with chronic skin and ear conditions, taking joy in alleviating their discomfort and improving their quality of life. Outside of work, Dr Candice enjoys exploring the local area, embarking on camping trips, and hiking with her energetic terrier, Ruby. Her love for the great outdoors compliments her commitment to supporting the people and pets seeking support from the Broken Hill clinic.
Since joining the team at the Broken Hill clinic in 2023, Dr Nina has continued to support the community as one of our dedicated veterinarians. The highlight of her work is being able to work with other animal lovers, especially the local animal guardians who care deeply about their pets. Though she has a soft spot for older cats, Dr Nina leaps at every opportunity to help animals in need, including expanding her knowledge and skills relating to the care of wildlife animals.
Emma has been a part of our team for over seven years. She started out as an animal attendant before progressing to her current role as Clinic Supervisor of the Broken Hill Veterinary Hospital. In addition to greatly enjoying the wide variety of cases the clinic sees, Emma is passionate about supporting local pet owners through our community assistance programs. With a passion for feline welfare that endures outside of work, Emma spends her free time caring for her cats, Winnie and Ollie, and growing feline-friendly flowers for her household to enjoy.
As a passionate clinic attendant at the Broken Hill Veterinary Hospital, Tayissa is continually grateful that no two days are the same. Despite her soft spot for Staffies, Tayissa is committed to helping every vulnerable animal seeking support from the Broken Hill clinic. Outside of work, her favourite pastimes include camping and learning new things about animal care.
Taylor first joined the team as an animal attendant before stepping in as a receptionist at the Broken Hill Veterinary Hospital. From rescue kittens to kangaroos, the highlight of her work is the variety of animals she gets to encounter in her role. Having adopted cats and a chihuahua from RSPCA NSW, Taylor knows the warmth, love, and value animals bring to our lives and homes, which is why she continues to help the clinic support the community and their pets.
Before stepping into the role of receptionist at the Broken Hill Veterinary Hospital, Sarah worked as a trail ride wrangler and RSPCA NSW animal attendant. Having played a valuable role in the clinic for more than two years, Sarah continues to enjoy helping animals with her compassionate, supportive team. Sarah has always had a love for horses and exploring the outdoors; in her spare time, you can find her enjoying a range of adventurous activities such as archery, horse riding, camping, and more.
With more than five years of experience vet nursing with RSPCA NSW, Frances is an irreplaceable member of the Broken Hill clinic team. She has a soft spot for dogs – the bigger the breed, the better – and thrives when she’s training pups to improve their social and sensory skills. When not at the clinic, Frances is on the road, adventuring around with her big Great Dane mix Lenny, her forever furry friend.
Before she moved to Broken Hill and joined our welcoming vet nursing team, Jordan’s career as a veterinary nurse began in Mildura, her hometown. For Jordan, every day is different, each with valuable lessons to learn. A highlight of her role is seeing pets thrive as they grow up in loving homes. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, trying out new foods, and playing sport.
A compassionate, seasoned veterinary nurse, Megan has worked with RSPCA NSW for more than 13 years. She has a special interest in dogs and loves working on canine behaviour cases. Megan’s passion for training dogs extends beyond her work at the clinic; in her free time, Megan and Drax, her beloved Dutch Shepherd, enjoying spending quality time together, participating in obedience and sporting trials to bond and unwind.
As a veterinary nurse at the Broken Hill Veterinary Hospital, Tarnya can express her love for supporting dogs and other animals in need. She first joined RSPCAC NSW as an animal attendant in 2010 before stepping into her vet nursing role to help the clinic provide high quality treatment and care. Outside of work, Tarnya is still a huge canine enthusiast, and loves to unwind by taking the time to explore the outdoors.
From working as an animal attendant and receptionist, to her current role as a veterinary nurse, Alyza has helped animals in need in a variety of roles. She has been a vital part of our team for more than ten years and has developed a special interest in surgical nursing and wildlife care. Outside of work, she is the proud pet parent of her two cats, Oscar and Squid, and her adorable greyhound, Monster. You may also find her making art, tending to her garden, and going camping.
Though still a relatively fresh-faced member of the Broken Hill vet nursing team, Maggie is passionate about supporting every animal seeking support. Outside of work, Maggie enjoys spending quality time with her Border Collie, Gidget, and tending to her garden whenever she can find the time.
With over eleven years of experience with RSPCA NSW, Majda continues to enjoy supporting all animals who turn to us for help. The pride of her career as a veterinary nurse is how she supports all kinds of animals, from unique and exotic pets to wildlife animals seeking aid. In her spare time, Majda enjoys spending quality time with her family and exploring the great outdoors.
