Underpinning everything the Education Team does is the idea that each individual can make a difference in the welfare of animals – whether they are our pets, our companions or livestock providing sustenance for society.
In all of the talks, visits, training, programs and events the Education Team does with schools and the wider community, our aim is to provide the public with knowledge and understanding so they can influence the wellbeing of animals in their lives and help us to promote animal welfare issues.
The Education Team visit schools, educational institutions, community groups and events across New South Wales, educating on various animal care, safety and welfare issues.
Here are some handy tips from our in-house dog trainer to help you train your dog using positive reinforcement. If you practise these regularly and give ongoing positive rewards and feedback your dogs should improve their manners. Remember, practise makes perfect!
