Hi, I’m Claude!
I’m a handsome black-and-white gentleman with a striking coat and a bit of an independent streak. For most of my life, I’ve had to fend for myself as a stray with no home to call my own. I’ve now been in care for nearly 200 days without finding my person, but I haven’t given up hope that the right home is still out there for me.
Because of my past, I can take a little time to fully settle into a new environment. I just need someone patient who understands that trust is something I build at my own pace. Once I feel safe, I do enjoy companionship, on my terms, and there’s nothing I appreciate more than a warm, secure place to call my own.
Food has always been important to me, and I’ll admit I can get a bit eager around mealtimes. Sometimes I eat quickly or become impatient, but it’s only because I’ve had to worry about where my next meal was coming from. An automated feeder would really help me feel more secure, giving me consistent meals and easing that worry.
I’m looking for a calm, understanding home without children under 15. I can get overwhelmed if I’m handled too much, so I need someone who can read my body language and respect when I need a bit of space.
I’ve spent so much of my life outdoors, so having safe, secure outdoor access would mean a lot to me. A garden or enclosed space with cat netting would let me enjoy the fresh air while keeping me safe, giving me the best of both worlds. With patience, routine, and understanding, I know I have so much love to give. I may not be the kind of cat who rushes into your arms right away, but if you give me the chance, I’ll become a deeply loyal and rewarding companion.
