I’m Derek, a five-month-old ginger kitten with a gentle heart and a quiet nature. When you first meet me, I might seem a little shy and unsure—new places and unfamiliar sounds can feel quite overwhelming for a small guy like me. I like to take my time getting to know my surroundings and the people in them. But if you’re patient and kind, I promise I’ll show you my true self.
Once I feel safe and settled, I really come out of my shell. I love nothing more than stretching out in a warm, cozy spot and watching the world go by. I’ve got a soft spot for playtime too, especially when I’m with my brother, Hansel. He’s my best friend, my comfort, and my partner in all things fun. We chase, tumble, and explore together, and having him by my side makes everything feel a little less scary.
Hansel and I share a special bond—we rely on each other to feel safe and confident, especially in new environments. That’s why we’re looking for a home together. We’re a team, and we help each other grow braver every day.
Because I can be a bit timid, I’d do best in a calm, quiet home where I can settle in at my own pace. Loud noises and lots of commotion can be frightening for me at first, but with a peaceful environment and gentle care, I’ll soon be lounging happily and playing like the kitten I am.
