Hi, I'm Sparta. When I first arrived to the shelter, I was nervous. Everything was so new and I was so tiny so it was pretty scary for a timid guy like me. Luckily, my sister & I got to go into foster care and gain confidence. I’m still learning the rhythm of the world, but each day I feel a little bit more brave. I’m a little explorer, pausing to sniff everything before I trust it—and that’s how I’ll learn to trust you, too. When new places feel big, I pause and study the space, letting it become familiar at my own pace. I may need a little time and gentle encouragement to settle in. I love the calm things: a sunbeam to stretch in, a soft bed to nap in, and a gentle voice that tells me I’m safe. I’m happiest when I’m seen and respected for exactly who I am. A home with quiet rhythm would suit me best. I’ll take a little time to warm up, and I’ll thrive with routine and patient introductions to the world. Gentle companionship, soft spaces, and a pace that matches mine will help me blossom. A person or family who understands that I may need days or weeks to settle in will be my best match – children old enough to understand when I need my space. I am hopeful about mornings by a window and evenings curled up in a familiar blanket, sifting through the day with small, contented purrs. If my small purr and twinkling eyes tug at your heart, I’d love to meet you. Come say hello and see if we click—the door is open, and there’s a sunny spot waiting for us together.
