Happy Tails: Adoption Stories From 2023

We thought we would share the inspiring adoptions that touched our hearts in 2023. Here are some heart-warming tales of adopters making a difference in animals’ lives.

TJ & Taylor

Tj and taylor 1

Sydney’s favourite seniors were inseparable during their 185 days in care. After spending their days in each other’s embrace at our Sydney Adoption Centre, this dynamic duo found their forever home on a beautiful acreage north of Sydney. Finally home, they will enjoy their twilight years exploring rolling hills, spending lazy afternoons in the sun and sharing in the love of a family they truly deserve.

Savannah & Her Puppies

Savannah

Super-mum Savannah turned to us for help with her 10 precious puppies. After raising them to be strong, inquisitive, and healthy pups, each one of her adorable children were quickly adopted into loving homes. The incredible and devoted Savannah also found her perfect home, she was finally adopted by the family she had dreamed of and deserved.

Hansel

Hansel

Having grown up in a shelter, Hansel knew little about the world beyond shelter care. He was our longest-term resident and had grown up in our Shelter. After being returned after a previous adoption attempt, he was able to find a caring family after 472 days in care.

Toph

Toph

After spending almost 200 days in care, Toph received very little interest in adoption. He was often overlooked but seemed content snoozing the days away. But everything changed one day when Toph was finally adopted. Now content at home, it’s safe to say; it was love at first sight.

Sahara

Sahara

Sahara and 7 her puppies arrived at our Orange Shelter and remained patiently in care for 113 days. As a much-loved resident of the shelter, her departure was deeply emotional, but we couldn’t be happier seeing this her off to live the life she truly deserves.

Kelly

Kelly

Kelly arrived in care with a litter of her precious puppies and, though she happily saw them get adopted, she struggled to find a home of her own. After 189 days, she finally found her perfect companions and now wiles away the days with a family she loves.

Rosie

Rosie

This sweet senior originally arrived in care at 14-and-a-half years old. She had a myriad of health issues and could not properly walk. After a trying recovery process, including the unfortunate removal of her eyes, she was adopted at 16-and-a-half years old and will spend her twilight years knowing she is safe and dearly loved.

Sarge

Sarge

This sweet senior originally arrived in care at 14-and-a-half years old. She had a myriad of health issues and could not properly walk. After a trying recovery process, including the unfortunate removal of her eyes, she was adopted at 16-and-a-half years old and will spend her twilight years knowing she is safe and dearly loved.

Frasier

Frasier

As one of our longest feline residents, Frasier spent more than 365 days awaiting adoption at our Shelter. This sweet boy battled numerous health issues resulting in the removal of all his teeth but, after seeing him battle through so much, we couldn’t be happier to see him leave to live the happy life he deserves.

Ashley

Ashely

Ashley spent 221 days in care waiting for her second chance. She received very little interest in adoption before finally meeting her perfect match. With big smiles all round, we aren’t sure who is happier – the adorable Ashley, her new human Bayden, or the teams at RSPCA NSW.

Namielle

Namielle

After turning to our shelters through no fault of her own, Namielle was our longest-staying rabbit, in care for 260 days. She spent several months in foster care before finding her perfect match, and her second chance at a happy life with a human who would treasure her forever.

Carmen & Cameron

Carmen and cameron

Carmen was on a trial adoption with her new family when they learnt Cameron was her brother and couldn’t leave him behind. After both arriving in care as young pups, 112 days later they have begun their new adventure side by side.

Tiny Tom

Tiny Tom

After 500 days in care, Tiny Tom was finally adopted from our Central Coast Behaviour and Rehabilitation Centre! Though we treated him to a bombastic party during his second birthday in care, we were delighted to see this little love bug find his perfect forever family.

Hippo

Hippo

After a trying adoption journey, rife with vet visits and foster homes, this sweet girl has found her perfect match, and we could not be happier. All the best, little Hippo. We were ecstatic to see her take the plunge into the next stage of her journey!

Buddy

Buddy

After a remarkable journey, Buddy found his perfect match in. This lovable pup was was adopted by a couple who had been longing for a new companion ever since their beloved dog of over 10 years passed away. “After patiently waiting for the right time to adopt, we feel incredibly fortunate to have found Buddy. He has brought so much joy into our lives and given us a renewed sense of purpose. We are grateful to RSPCA NSW for rescuing him!” said Buddy’s new owners.

We are so grateful to have been able to help each of these animals reach the next stage of their journey and hope there are many more happy endings to come in the new year.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who has adopted from our shelters: your acts of kindness have given our animals a second chance at life, happiness, and everlasting love.
