Hi, I’m Shortbread, a 6-year-old Shih Tzu, and I’m looking for a home with my little sister Scone, who’s 2. We’re a bonded pair, so we need to stay together—we really help each other feel safe and happy.
I’m a sweet, independent girl who likes being around my people, but I also appreciate having my own space. I’ll happily sit nearby and keep you company, checking in for pats when I’m in the mood, then wandering off when I’ve had enough. Scone is a bit more of an attention-seeker and will often step in to make sure she gets her share, but I don’t mind—it's just part of who we are.
We both love human attention and thrive in a home where we can be included in daily life, but we do best with calm, respectful interactions. When we first arrived, we were quite nervous, and because of that, we’re looking for a home with children over 12 who understand how to let us come to them and give us a sense of control.
I enjoy a relaxed lifestyle with a bit of play here and there—especially if there are soft toys involved—and I like having a routine I can rely on. We’re curious about other dogs, but we can be a little selective, so any introductions should be slow and thoughtful.
More than anything, I’m looking for a peaceful, loving home where Scone and I can stay together, feel safe, and continue to grow in confidence. If you can offer patience, understanding, and plenty of companionship, we’ll be a very special pair to have by your side.
