We’re Scone and Shortbread, two Shih Tzu sisters looking for a home where we can stay together forever. I’m Scone, the younger one at 2 years old, and Shortbread is 6. We’re a bonded pair, which means we rely on each other for comfort and confidence, so we’ll need to be adopted together.
We’re both sweet, happy girls who really love being around people and getting attention. I (Scone) am especially fond of being the centre of attention and will happily nudge my way in for extra pats, while Shortbread enjoys staying close by and keeping you company in her own gentle way. We both thrive on human connection, but we like things on our terms and appreciate calm, respectful interactions.
When we first arrived, we were quite nervous, and while we’ve grown in confidence, we still prefer a home without young children. Kids over 12 who understand how to give us space and let us come to them would suit us much better, as we feel safest when we have a bit of control over our interactions.
We’re curious about other dogs and don’t mind them from a distance, but we can be a little selective with our friendships, so slow introductions would be important if there are other dogs in the home.
At the end of the day, we’re just looking for a loving, patient home where we can relax, feel secure, and get plenty of affection. We have a lot of love to give and will make a wonderful little duo for the right family.
