My name is Macey, and I'm a beautiful girl looking for a calm and understanding forever home. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was very shy and timid. Everything felt a little scary and overwhelming. Since then, I've been staying with a wonderful foster carer who has helped me gain confidence at my own pace. I've slowly started coming out of my shell, but I'm still a sensitive girl who needs patience, kindness, and lots of love. Because I'm naturally timid, I'm looking for a quiet home where I can feel safe and secure. I would prefer a home with no children under 6 years old, as too much noise and activity can make me feel overwhelmed. When things get a bit too much for me, I like to retreat to one of my special hiding spots where I can relax and feel safe. I'd love a home with plenty of cosy hideaways, caves, and quiet spaces where I can take a break whenever I need to. My new family should set up a "launch room" for me when I first come home. This will be my own safe space for the first few days, complete with my bed, litter tray, food, water, toys, and lots of cosy places to hide. Having a quiet room of my own will help me settle in without feeling overwhelmed and will allow me to slowly build the confidence to explore more of the house day by day. Please remember not to rush me though, as moving too fast can make me lose confidence and take a step backwards. I'm not a particularly playful girl, but I do enjoy the occasional toy, especially ones I can grab onto like ribbons or dangling string toys. I usually only play for short periods before heading back to one of my favourite cosy hideouts. Most of all, I'm looking for a patient family who will let me be myself and give me the time I need to feel safe. If you're looking for a gentle, sweet companion and are happy to let me settle in at my own pace, I might just be the perfect girl for you. Love, Macey
