Little bit about Poppi, the Rescuoodle

Hello big wide world!

My name is Poppi, and I'm on the hunt for my new forever home with some cool people who love me!

I am a small breed dog, the staff say I look like a fluffy cloud, but just because I'm small and cute does not mean I want to be handled like a baby. I'm actually a little hesitant with touch when I meet new people, I like to stay at a distance and check them out to make sure they are OK before I approach. For this reason, I'm best suited to a home with any kids over the age of 12, just so I don't get cranky with all the handling! Since I am so petite, I will need secure fencing in the home so I don't squeeze under, indoor and outdoor access, lots of toys and games to keep me entertained, and I LOVE other smaller dogs, they give me the encouragement I need to be a brave girl, so I will need to go home with another dog that already lives in the home! I'm so ready to go to a cozy place with some loving people and a doggy friend, it's just not the same here in the shelter. I am currently working on my toilet training skills, I have had some accidents before but if you provide opportunities to toilet outside, grass matts or puppy pads, this will greatly assist me in my training! I'm a real water baby and I will take every opportunity to have a swim, even in tiny water bowls, I will find a way!
