Hello everyone, my name is River! Are you my retirement home?
I am an older gentle girl looking for a cozy place to spend her days, I could be a great addition to a quieter more relaxed home life. I really enjoy the company of people, even just lying near them or following them around, sometimes treats are great but mostly I just want the attention and cozy spots to curl up in while you're with me.
I can show some distress when I'm alone, but this can be easily managed with secure color bond fencing and someone home more often than not for the initial settling in and bonding period. I would love to go to a place where the owners have breed experience, as I am a big fluff of a German Shepherd! I think other dogs are cool, but I don't really like them in my space. I'm suited to a home with no other dogs so I can be the happiest vegemite in town. If you are an experienced owner looking for the one, pick me!!
I do like to chase lizards and other wildlife, so if you have lots of critters around, I may not be suited as I like to play too rough with them! I may be shy at first, so let me take my time to warm up and get to know you before we start to adventure too far outside of the home. I need to build a special bond with my new person, so I feel safe and reassured. If you think a big squish like me could be your new forever friend, please give us a call at the shelter on 02 6651 3311 and I'll get my people to organise our first date <3
