Little bit about Oscar, the Rescuoodle

Hey there, I'm Oscar, a five-year-old feline with a tale to tell. Life hasn't always been easy for me, but I'm grateful for the second chance I've been given. You see, I used to roam the streets as a stray, facing the uncertainties of each day on my own. But fate led me to the shelter, where compassionate souls took me in and gave me a safe haven to call home.

While I'm grateful for the shelter's care, there are a few things my future family should know about me. I'm a little on the timid side, and when things get overwhelming, I like to retreat to a quiet hiding spot until I feel ready to face the world again. So, it's important for my new family to provide me with plenty of cozy hideaways where I can feel safe and secure.

Kids under 6 can be a bit intimidating for me, so I'd thrive best in a home without young children. And speaking of understanding, it would mean the world to me if my new owners took the time to research cat behaviour. Understanding when I'm feeling unsure or anxious will go a long way in helping me feel comfortable and loved.

Due to my past experiences, I've also contracted cat flu, so it's best for me to stay indoors to prevent flare-ups and protect other kitties from getting sick. But don't worry, I've healed nicely from a recent dental procedure with extractions during my time in care.

Currently, I'm on behaviour medication to help me cope with my shyness, but there's hope for the future. With a free vet consult upon adoption, my new family can explore the possibility of weaning me off medication and helping me blossom into the confident kitty I know I can be.

So, if you're looking for a loyal companion who may need a little extra patience and understanding, then I'm your guy, Oscar.
