7 Disney cartoons you should put on right now Posted on March 25, 2020 Stuck at home with nothing to do? Have a bunch of kids and animals to keep entertained? Don’t worry, we have the perfect solution. If you, like us, are obsessed with Disney movies, we think now is the perfect time to settle in with the best of them and have a shameless movie marathon. Here’s a round-up of our favourite Disney movies with animals in the leading roles, to please parents, pups, kids and kitties alike. The Lion King (1994) A place where animals rule the world?! Complete with one of the best Disney soundtracks ever? Sign us up! After young cub Simba suffers a big loss at the hands of his evil uncle, he works with friends Timon and Pumbaa to return to his homeland and claim his rightful throne. We always reach for the 1994 cartoon version but the recent live-action remake is pretty great too! The Lady and the Tramp (1955) A beautiful King Charles Cavalier Spaniel meets a lovable crossbreed and – spoiler alert – the two end up falling in love! A reminder that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover… or an animal by its breed! We have a real soft spot for this movie, for obvious reasons. Ratatouille (2007) If a sweet, hapless rat wants to follow his dreams of becoming a chef, who are we to say no? Watch Remy kick some serious cooking goals and join us as one of his biggest cheerleaders! Finding Nemo (2003) Young clownfish Nemo gets split up from his worried father and starts an adventure across the sea. Meanwhile, Nemo’s dad joins forces with a sweet fish called Dory to get him back home. Dory’s “just keep swimming” is a pretty good life motto right now. And joining Nemo’s wild journey to 42 Wallaby Way Sydney is a pretty good life distraction too! Aristocats (1970) A fancy cat called Duchess and her new alley cat friend Thomas work together to get Duchess and her kittens back to their home in Paris – and to reclaim their inheritance! The moral of this movie is that cats deserve a spoiled and luxurious life. I’m sure we can all agree on that. Bambi (1942) Bambi is a young deer who grows up in the beautiful springtime forest… And, well, that’s all we’ll say for now. Just make sure you grab the tissues for this one. 101 Dalmatians (1961) The evil Cruella de Vil kidnaps a litter of Dalmatian pups to turn into her latest fashion statement! Mon dieu! Thankfully, mum and dad dog come to the rescue… saving another 84 pet shop puppies along the way. Let us know if you watch one of these classics by tagging @rspcansw on insta.
