Test your baking skills this RSPCA Cupcake Day

RSPCA NSW is calling bakers of all skill levels to whip up some tasty treats for animals in need this August for RSPCA Cupcake Day 2021.

The timer for RSPCA Cupcake Day is set for Monday 16 August 2021 but keen bakers can start raising some dough to help animals across the country now until the end of the month.

This year, your lockdown baking practice will be put to the test with new Bake-A-Thon challenges from celebrity bakers and chefs from around the world. A new challenge will be released each week during the month of August for participating bakers to rise above. The first cookie to crumble will be Donna Hay’s Chocolate Caramel Thumbprint Cookies. Upload your mouth watering creations to your fundraising page to share with your family and friends and ask for their support.

“Cupcake Day is a great way to show off your baking skills (good or bad) and help RSPCA NSW continue it’s important work,” said RSPCA NSW Community Fundraising Manager Danielle Cameron.

“Every cupcake made is a dollar closer to providing animals in our care the help they need. Fundraising $352 will care for a cat and her kittens for two weeks and $604 will help care for a litter of puppies for a week.”

This year’s RSPCA Cupcake Day will feature fun new recipes to try on the website, including Aunty Beryl’s Lemon Myrtle Butter Biscuits, Cupcake Day’s first indigenous recipe. All funds raised from RSPCA Cupcake Day will help animals in need. Money raised will help the 124,00 animals that turn to the RSPCA each year.
