Wilson’s New Wheels!

Wilson’s got his wheels! This little pooch is rolling towards a brighter future thanks to our very own Dr Laura and her team!

RSPCA NSW inspectors 7 year old Wilson dragging himself around by his front legs. Not only was this poor Miniature Poodle unable to move his back legs at all, he had severely matted fur and scalding on his skin from urine. Wilson was immediately seized by our inspectors and taken in for veterinary treatment, where he met Dr Laura.

Wilson spent six weeks at our Sydney veterinary hospital recovering and rebuilding his strength. He soon became the shelter’s golden boy, and Dr Laura began thinking about his future. In particular, she wanted to get him a set of doggie wheels so he could move around by himself.

The first day he tried out his new customised doggy wheelchair, he was running by the end of it, which made everyone watching pretty teary! Another huge thank you to you, our loyal supporters, for all your generosity which allows us to give animals like Wilson a new lease on life and a very happy ending!

Wilson will be available for adoption in the future. As he’s classed as a high-needs dog, he will be transferred to a specialised rescue group that focuses on high needs and disabled dogs. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on Wilson and his bright future!
