Australia’s Biggest Dog Day Out!

Have you heard? On 21 May 2017, Million Paws Walk will gather all dog lovers to make a stand for animals in need! Regular walk routes will be transformed into a celebration of man’s best friend and people like you will become the voice for animal welfare.

Million Paws Walk is RSPCA NSW’s largest annual event, where 100 per cent of funds raised through event activities, donations, merchandise sales and your own fundraising efforts go directly towards helping animals in need. Your contributions will help care for more than 35,000 animals who enter our shelters every year. You will also help keep our inspectors on the road, run education and support programs, and improve the welfare of animals every day.

The RSPCA is also doing something extra special this year called the Million Paws Challenge! From 20 April to 20 May, fundraisers and their dogs will walk a million paws to raise funds and awareness for animal welfare. Let your friends and family know that you’re making a difference and get them to sponsor your effort.

In 1994, the very first Million Paws Walk event was launched in Queensland by Dr Cam Day, who believed a special event involving animals walking together would be a fun day for both pets and their owners. Dr Day also believed it would promote responsible pet ownership, as well as raise much-needed funds for the RSPCA. Since then, Million Paws Walk has expanded significantly to become the RSPCA’s biggest fundraising event, with more than 70 walks held across Australia each year!
