Learn practical animal welfare skills with RSPCA NSW Posted on October 21, 2022 Expressions of interest are now open to study ACM20121 Certificate II in Animal Care with RSPCA NSW. The 10-week nationally recognised qualification is open to anyone 18 years and older and is your entry point into the animal care and management industry. Candidates with all levels of animal experience, great and small, are welcome to apply and learn a new trick with the RSPCA NSW training team. Students will gain hands-on experience learning about animal hygiene, providing basic animal first aid, communicating effectively with people, staying safe in an animal-related workplace, and sourcing information about the needs of animals. Your first step in your animal welfare career begins with online and face-to-face classroom sessions, delivered out of the new RSPCA NSW Adoption and Education Centre in Sydney. Practical work placements are included at one of six RSPCA NSW locations including Sydney, Illawarra, Katoomba, Central Coast ( Somersby) and the RSPCA NSW Hunter Shelter in Rutherford for the first time. Never too late to learn a new trick with RSPCA NSW “The practical component allowed me to utilise my learned knowledge immediately,” said Certificate II in Animal Studies graduate Ana Foster. “With access to experienced staff and trainers daily, I was able to connect theory and practice in no time and secure a position with RSPCA NSW. It is a team-oriented work environment with everyone doing their best and working toward a common goal”.
