RSPCA doubles down on donations for ‘Give to Get Them Home’

For 24 hours, donations made to RSPCA NSW will be doubled in an effort to find loving homes for as many neglected, homeless and abused animals as possible.

RSPCA’s Give to Get Them Home appeal will see donations made on Thursday 3 October matched by corporate and individual leadership supporters.

It’s an incredible one-day opportunity for animal lovers to have a large-scale impact on the 123,000 animals the shelters care for each year.

RSPCA NSW CEO Steve Coleman said the appeal means every supporter will have the opportunity to make their contribution work harder for animals in need of care and protection.

“Last year the RSPCA received over 71,346 reports of animal cruelty nationally. Give to Get Them Home empowers the public to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable animals,” said Steve Coleman.

“RSPCA NSW relies on the generosity of our supporters to continue to help desperate animals when they need us the most. If you’ve ever thought about donating to the RSPCA – now’s the time to do it.”

On average it costs the RSPCA $1,000 to rescue, care for and find an animal a home. Money raised will go directly to help homeless, neglected and abused animals in the community and support RSPCA NSW’s animal welfare advocacy and education work.

During the event one $50 donation will be doubled to $100, meaning one donation can provide a rescued dog with a safe bed, shelter and care.

Give to Get Them Home will be held on Thursday 3 October the eve of World Animal Day.

Participants can donate online at www.charidy.com/rspcansw or via telephone on (02) 9782 4400.
