Little bit about Runsta

Hi there! My name is Runsta and I was brought in to the shelter as my owner was no longer able to keep me in their care. I was a little sad at first but I think I am now ready to find a new family to call my own, could that be you?

When I first arrived at the shelter, I was very nervous around new people and I often wouldn’t approach to meet anyone. The staff have been helping me build my confidence and I have made good progress but I can still be very shy so I will need an extra special home where I can be encouraged to gain more confidence and have the time put in to me to allow me to come out of my shell.

I haven’t received much training in my previous home and whilst I already know basic cues such as ‘sit’, I would benefit from ongoing training in my new home as training is a great way to help me settle in to my new environment and will also help build the bond between me and my new family.

As I am still building my confidence, I would be better suited to children over the age of 12 years who can understand I need my personal space from time to time and who will allow me to approach them at my own pace as I settle in. I would also like a home where I am the only dog, as other dogs can annoy me a bit. This also means I will need to avoid dog parks and places with lots of dogs, at least until I am more confident in myself.

Ideally, I would love a home where I can become a member of the family. I’d like open access to indoor and outdoor areas and have a comfy bed to curl up in of a night, lots of toys to keep me entertained and maybe a spot saved on the couch for movie night.

If I sound like the missing piece to your puzzle at home please come and see me at the RSPCA Care Centre, love Runsta!
