Taking a look at our rescue group partners

At RSPCA NSW, we couldn’t do all that we do for animals without some help from our friends. We work with a number of different rescue groups that support us in caring for, fostering, rehabilitating and rehoming the animals that come through our doors.

We began to create formal partnerships with other animal rescue groups across Australia in October 2013. Since then, over 4,000 animals have been rehabilitated and rehomed through our amazing partner charities.

We now have over 30 official rescue partners, meaning we can transfer animals from our care to these groups in the safest and most efficient ways possible.

Hunter finds a home with Husky Rescue WA

One of our amazing rescue partners, Husky Rescue WA, recently helped us out when Hunter the Siberian Husky had trouble finding a new home during his time at an RSPCA NSW shelter.

We thought Hunter could try his luck in Western Australia, and with the help of our corporate partner Jetpets, he was flown from Sydney to Husky Rescue WA.

This wonderful organisation planned for Hunter to spend some time in a real home with a caring, devoted foster family. His foster parents fell in love with him and ended up adopting him. Hunter now loves his new forever home!

Paws n’ Hooves Inc. cares for pups in need

Another one of our Rescue Partners, Paws n’ Hooves Inc. recently rushed into our Sydney Shelter to collect a litter of puppies that had been surrendered, as their mother wasn’t able to care for them. This fantastic organisation specialises in looking after newborn and young puppies, and they were immediately here for us, taking action to deliver the care and attention that those puppies desperately needed.

What other partners do we work with?

Some of the other fantastic rescue partners we worked with in the 2018 financial year include:

  • ACT Rescue and Foster Inc
  • Australian Working Dog Rescue
  • Beagle Rescue VIC
  • Bull Terrier Rescue NSW
  • Claws N Paws
  • Daschund Rescue Australia
  • Dog Rescue Newcastle
  • Herd 2 Homes Dog Rescue
  • Hunter Animal Rescue
  • Sydney Metro Wildlife Rescue
  • WIRES
  • Wollongong Animal Rescue Network

In the 2018 financial year, 928 animals were rehomed with the help of these amazing charities!

We’re always on the lookout for new partnerships to expand our network and increase the number of animals that can be rehomed across the state. All the animals that are transferred from RSPCA NSW to our rescue partners have full veterinary health check-ups, and are desexed, microchipped, and vaccinated.
